    ChildServe is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Outpatient Clinic, supporting both our Psychiatry and Outpatient Clinics teams. In this role, you’ll partner with a pediatric psychiatric nurse practitioner to provide specialized care for children with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. You’ll also collaborate closely with families and care teams to coordinate services and ensure each child feels supported throughout their treatment journey.

    + Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

    What You'll Do

     

    + Assist the psychiatry and outpatient clinics providers and team in the outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds on the complex medical units at ChildServe, and occasional visits to the group homes.

    + Within the nursing scope of practice and physician’s orders, assess, plan, and evaluate the child’s clinical care per regulatory requirements and time frames.

    + Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings for each child when necessary. Consistently communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with children, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.

    + Provide training to children, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.

    + Work with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations for procedures performed by clinic providers and medications prescribed by clinic providers.

    + Maintain an inventory of clinic supplies to ensure the providers have access to the tools needed for patient procedures.

    + Assist families with scheduling, communication, education, follow-up, collaboration, and resources as they navigate through complex healthcare systems and services.

    + Perform routine and non-routine tests and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments.

    + Receive or collect, as well as process, blood samples.

     

    What You'll Need

     

    + Required: Licensed to practice as a RN in the State of Iowa

    + Preferred: RN experience in the field of developmental disabilities, pediatrics and young adults is preferred.

    + Preferred: Experience in the field of psychiatry

    + Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

    + Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.

    + Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
