Job Summary
The Program Manager will provide strategic and operational support to the newly established RNA Design and Synthesis Core. This role involves managing projects across research domains, overseeing daily administrative functions, and driving engagement and outreach initiatives to ensure the Core's sustainability and growth. The Program Manager will play a key role in promoting the Core's mission, facilitating effective communication with stakeholders, and building productive partnerships. This position requires collaboration with a diverse range of internal and external partners, including faculty, staff, and students from the University of Michigan's schools and departments, as well as researchers and industry leaders nationwide.

Responsibilities*
+ Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the RNA Design and Synthesis Core, including coordination of research, clinical, and outreach activities to align with strategic goals.
+ Build and maintain productive partnerships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to support and enhance the Core's activities. Facilitate communication channels for effective information exchange and mutual benefit.
+ Regularly update Core leadership on progress, challenges, and emerging issues related to Core activities. Develop comprehensive reports and presentations to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
+ Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the Core's goals and objectives. Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
+ Direct the development, monitoring, and management of the Core's budget. Ensure financial sustainability by optimizing resource allocation and adhering to fiscal policies.
+ Lead efforts to increase the Core's visibility and viability through strategic communications and development initiatives. Design and execute marketing and fundraising campaigns, outreach programs, and public relations activities.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact for partnership inquiries. Guide potential collaborators from initial contact through the completion of projects, ensuring mutual objectives are met.
+ Design and implement broader outreach activities targeting key stakeholders to promote the Core's mission. Represent the Core at national scientific conferences and other events to enhance collaboration opportunities.
+ Plan and execute annual Symposium. Manage logistics for event as well as visiting speakers and attendees. Coordinate sponsorship agreements with vendors.
Required Qualifications*
+ Master's degree in higher education administration.
+ 5-7 years of progressive project or program management experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role. At least 2 years of experience overseeing a biomedical research center, with a preference for experience in RNA-focused programs.
+ Proven track record in fostering collaboration between diverse stakeholders, including academic and industry partners.
+ Experience in planning and executing national scientific conferences that engage the scientific community and advance research goals.
+ Demonstrated experience in fundraising from individuals, organizations, and corporate entities, including successful grant application and administration.
+ Proficient in budget management, maintenance, and reconciliation, with attention to financial details.
+ Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
+ Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Ability and desire to work independently, showing initiative, as well as participating collaboratively within a team setting.

Background Screening
