    Chemours is seeking a **Mining Technician Surveyor/Geographer** to join our growing **Mine Planning** team. This position will be available in our **Starke and Macclenny, Florida** locations and report directly to the **Mine Planner.**

     

    The Mining Technician is a full-time position that will provide multi-level geographic field and office support to the Mine Planning team. This position will work closely with field operations to execute mining and reclamation plans and be responsible for accurate use of Global Positioning Systems and Drone Piloting/Mapping in a variety of field areas.

    The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

    + Management and organization of Drone systems including hardware, batteries, tablets, cables, and software

    + Chief pilot of Drone activities with safe operation and use according to federal guidelines

    + Management and organization of GPS systems including data collector, GPS antenna, radio systems, and coordinating installation at facilities and/or mobile equipment

    + Chief land surveyor maintaining all safety guidelines as outlined by Chemours

    + Developing, processing, maintaining geographic data sets

    + Providing volumetric analysis data from selected drone flights

    + Inventory management of land surveying tools such as stakes, tape, flags, pond boards, etc.

    + Safely operating and maintaining survey truck, ATV, and other field equipment

    + Support mining, permitting, environmental, and reclamation activities as needed

    The following is** **_required_** **for this role:

    + Interest in a professional land Surveying and/or Geographic Mine support

    + High School Diploma or equivalent GED

    + Valid Driver's License with a reputable driving record

    + Interest in Drone piloting, GPS, and data manipulation

    + Possess FAA Drone Pilot’s License OR willing to study, take, and pass exam within 60 days of hire date

    + Ability to work in an outdoor mining environment which may include exposure to extreme temperature and humidity

    + Ability to work in challenging areas such as roads, berms, mining cells, wetlands, forests, stockpiles, industrial areas, and in/on/around mobile equipment

    + Day shift role, but willing to work overtime as needed, and open to flexible work hours as jobs may necessitate

    + Well organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work as you may be working independently at times

    The following is** **_preferred_** **for this role:

    + Prior experience in Professional Land Surveying role and/or Geographic Mine support role

    + FAA Drone Pilot’s License

    + Prior experience working in an earth moving and/or in a mining organization
