    We are currently seeking a **Engineering Specialist (Performance/Simulation/Validation)** in **Houston, Texas.** As a Engineering Specialist (Performance/Simulation/Validation), you will be responsible for supporting site-level simulations, designs, and projects. You will contribute to product quality, reliability, and performance deliverables associated with complex technical engineering systems. These systems could include, but are not limited to, variable frequency drives, E-Motor selection, switch gears, power management, genset selection, energy storage systems, variable fuel delivery systems, variable gaseous engines and support systems, diesel engines, transmissions, pumps, powertrain support systems, and integrated user interfaces supporting site-level performance. The selected candidate will also have accountability for electrical system performance, analysis, troubleshooting, validation, and issue resolution to ensure alignment to system performance, regulatory standards and reliability expectations.

    What You Will Do:

    + Collaborate with development teams to drive critical customer requirements, develop validation plans based on risk priority numbers, report or in some cases lead problem resolutions.

    + Lead and manage FMEA and validation activities within the NTI and NPI process.

    + Manage system simulations using modeling tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Simscape, Dynasty, HOMER Pro/Grid or other grid simulation tools, and Simcenter Amesim or equivalent system modeling tools.

    + Coordinate test hardware installation, commissioning, and decommissioning.

    + Develop new validation processes and support field troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, or software issues)

    Degree Requirement

    + Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum or equivalent experience working in an Engineering function.

    Top Candidates Will Have:

    + Design and integration experience through system modeling and correlation experience.

    + Experience with CAN, J1939, and other data link communication protocols.

    + Hands-on experience with electrical/electronic control systems.

    Additional Information:

    + Relocation to Houston, TX is available.

    + Travel will be expected 20% of the time.

    + This position is a fully onsite work model, requiring you are onsite in Houston, TX.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $110,520.00 - $165,840.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
