Description

SAIC is seeking a **Technical Writer and Editor** with an active Top Secret clearance. This position is 100% onsite at the Pentagon in **Arlington, VA.**

Job responsibilities:

+ Write and edit technical documents including briefings, papers, general correspondence, and briefings for grammar, punctuation, formatting, and clarity

+ Assess and integrate technical and visual information from multiple sources into well-structured and professionally articulated products

+ Facilitate appropriate review and clearance through Public Affairs and the Office of Security Review

+ Assess and evaluate technical content against mission objectives and strategic messaging guidance to deliver written and visual products for both internal and external audiences

+ Facilitate collection and dissemination of materials for coordination and approval

+ Format documents according to Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) standards

+ Work with diverse groups to reach agreement on content

+ Interview subject matter experts to obtain content

+ Perform document configuration control and storage

+ Collate, edit, format, and refine DDRE-level reports

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or related field and ten (10) years or more experience; Masters degree and eight (8) or more years of experience

+ Experience writing in engineering or other highly technical domains

+ Expert skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

+ Familiarity with Congressional activities, proposals, and reports

+ Experience and skill to interact with technical experts in systems engineering

+ Familiarity with document coordination and work flow practices

Required Clearance:

+ Active Top Secret clearance required to start; Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI required to maintain employment

+ US citizenship

Desired Qualifications

+ Previous experience within the DoD is preferred

+ Masters Degree and eight (8) years of experience
