    Join PDS Tech Commercial as a **Structural Engineer Consultant** in El Segundo, CA, and help shape the future of aerospace production. In this high-impact role, you'll drive the design, analysis, and innovation of precision tooling and structural components used in advanced aerospace fabrication—contributing directly to mission-critical builds and cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.

     

    Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

     

    What You'll Do Day-to-Day

     

    As a key engineering contributor embedded in a dynamic aerospace environment, your focus will be ensuring the structural integrity and compliance of complex tooling systems. You will:

     

    + Perform structural analysis (static and dynamic) using FEMAP/NASTRAN for metallic and composite aerospace tooling structures.

    + Design and draft tooling components (jigs, fixtures, dies, etc.) using CAD software (CATIA/NX).

    + Develop detailed engineering reports and validate the work of peers.

    + Solve complex engineering problems through both hand calculations and finite element methods.

    + Collaborate across teams and levels—from fellow engineers to customer representatives—to align on technical requirements and innovative solutions.

    + Apply industry standards and specifications, with a focus on fabrication shop compatibility and production performance.

     

    What We're Looking For

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s in a STEM field with 6+ years OR Master’s with 3+ years of relevant experience.

    + Expertise in structural stress analysis, GD&T, and interpreting engineering drawings (ASME Y14.5).

    + Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA/NX) and FEM software (FEMAP/NASTRAN).

    + Experience with tooling fabrication, including composites and coatings in aerospace production.

    + Strong communication and independent problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + PE license or in pursuit (California preferred).

    + Background in aerospace tooling and mechanics.

    + Current active DOD Secret Clearance (within last 5 years).

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    **Pay Details:** $58.45 to $73.07 per hour
