• Occupational Therapist- PART Time- Day Shift

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    Department: Occupational Therapy - IPR & Acute Care

     

    PART Time - Day shift 8:00am - 4:30pm (flexible start & end times) with rotating weekends & major holidays.

     

    There is a weekend requirement of a minimum of 2 weekend days per 4-week schedule. There is also a requirement of at least one hard to fill shift as well as a holiday rotation. The candidate would be required to work Inpatient Rehab as well as the acute care units.

     

    Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assesses patient 's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.

    + Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.

    + Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.

    + Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.

    + Seeks consultation as necessary.

    + Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

    + Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.

    + Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    + Bachelor's degree required. - Master's degree preferred. -

    + Acute Care Experience preferred; however, willing to train the right new graduate candidate.

    CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

    + BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association

    + Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Michigan Board of Occupational Therapists obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
