Summary

The Plant Safety Coordinator coordinates the plant safety observation program and reports the general findings to the Plant or Operations Manager, and the Safety Administrator. This position interfaces with the Safety Administrator performing plant safety audits, disseminating details from audits to the appropriate parties, and keeping the Safety Administrator informed of any safety violations discovered that may require formal disciplinary written warnings.

Duties and Responsibilities

_To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices._

+ Coordinates a plant (non-disciplinary) safety observation program in accordance with the Behavior-Based Safety Plan, and reports findings to the Plant or Operations Manager.

+ Performs plant safety audits with the Safety Administrator.

+ Assists the Safety Administrator in disseminating details from the plant safety audits to the Plant or Operations Manager.

+ Assists in communicating Board of Inquiry outcomes.

+ Conducts safety tours of the plant and reports findings.

+ Informs Safety Administrator of safety violations.

+ Refers all technical safety issues to the Safety Administrator for review.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

+ High School education or equivalent

+ Ability to work both independently and with a team

+ Intermediate proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

+ Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

+ 2+ years experience in steel or paint production

+ Familiarity with OSHA Safety Codes

+ GBRX First Responder
