    Advanced Systems Design is seeking a SOFTWARE TECHNICIAN for our client.

     

    This is a fully onsite opportunity to work alongside the federal government.

    Primary Duties:

    + Provides technical support for all authorized academic software residing on the Dean of Faculty IT systems at the client site.

    + Reports to the Faculty Information Technology (FIT) office Project Manager/Team Lead.

    + Works independently or with a team.

    + Maintains documentation on Faculty IT processes for software (desktop/web-based) procurements and utilization.

    + Ensures academic software is current and updated as new versions/patches become available.

    + Makes software and associated purchasing information accessible to Cybersecurity personnel as required for testing/evaluation/approval.

    + Provides recommendations for software procurements/acquisitions as required to the CRO for review and coordination; to include market research, salient characteristics, statements of need, and single source justification (as required).

    + Serves as the customer liaison for all academic software needs and assists with updates/installations of academic software applications for Dean of Faculty personnel.

    + Ensures all software is approved via the client approval process before being placed on a government network.

    + Assist CRO and Project Manager/Team lead with the Develop and implement an approved printer support plan.

    + This plan must include configuring and coordinating printing functions with other client networks.

    + The plan must also provide a printer sustainment protocol for life cycle monitoring and replacement.

    + Provide on-call support as required.

    + Obtain technical guidance as required from the supervisor and/or higher-level technician.

    + Observe and adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and client safety rules and regulations.

    + Fulfill other work center duties as assigned.

    Secondary Duties:

    + Provides printer support for all Defense Logistics Agency Printers (DLA) in the four academic buildings including cleaning, consumables replacements, coordination with customers, and easy fixes.

    + Submits repair requests and coordinates with manufacturers on needed repairs until completed.

    + Provides support to other contract work centers in the event of manpower shortages or unexpected requirements.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Two years or more of experience in computer, software implementation and maintenance and peripheral equipment

    + SECRET security clearance.

    Education:

    + An associate’s degree in IT or related field. Equivalent experience can be used as a substitution for this degree.
