    Job Summary:

    As a Manufacturing Engineer I, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and supply chain to support the design, production, and continuous improvement of SCRAM products. Your responsibilities will include maintaining documentation (CAD, BOMs, work instructions), supporting manufacturing processes, driving cost and quality improvements, and ensuring products meet rigorous standards through validation and testing.

     

    You will play a key role in day-to-day support of the production floor, and transitioning new products into production, optimizing existing designs and processes, and supporting root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Develop and maintain manufacturing fixtures to enhance and automate current and future manufacturing processes.

    + Maintain and update 3D models, assemblies, detailed technical drawings, and documentation packages using SolidWorks.

    + Support production by recommending and implementing design changes for manufacturability, cost reduction, and quality improvements.

    + Lead or assist in cost-saving projects through improved processes, component redesign, and supplier collaboration.

    + Develop and maintain engineering documentation in the form of SOPs, work instructions, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting guides.

    + Contribute to the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.

    + Translate field failure data and process measurements into actionable quality improvements.

    + Participate in new product development initiatives, ensuring manufacturability and robust quality inspection plans.

    + Estimate production time, resource needs, and costs for management decision-making.

    + Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in cycle time, safety, and ergonomics.

    + Support failure analysis efforts and collaborate with engineering to drive corrective actions.

    + Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

    Skills/Abilities:

    + Experience in product design, testing, and manufacturing support.

    + Experience with portable electronics, consumer, medical, or industrial electronic products.

    + Familiarity in plastic injection molding, product lifecycle management, and secondary operations.

    + Strong CAD proficiency (with SolidWorks); familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

    + Familiarity with 3D printing and other prototyping and manufacturing processes.

    + Exposure to quality tools such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, and statistical analysis.

    + Exposure to Six Sigma and Lean principles.

    + Exposure to various analysis tools. (Minitab, 3D Analysis)

    + Exposure to programming tools and environments (LabView, Arduino/Raspberry Pi, C/C#)

    + Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including suppliers.

    + Communicates clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms.

    + Upholds organizational values with integrity and professionalism.

    + Adheres to and helps improve company policies and procedures.

    + Demonstrates initiative, dependability, and sound judgment in all work.

    + Focuses on quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of the role.

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field.

    + 0 - 3 years of work experience, internship, co-op, or academic project experience in a manufacturing engineering or similar role

    Physical Requirements (With or without reasonable accommodation):
