    Job Title: Procurement Manager

     

    Job Location: Torrance, CA

     

    Salary: $130,000-$160,000/yr

     

    The onsite Procurement Manager is a key position that oversees the Purchasing Organization for the Torrance, CA facility focusing on leading a team and responsible for developing and executing the site purchasing strategy to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, and support business objectives. This role will require close collaboration with material planning, production planning and logistics teams to balance supply and demand effectively and to meet customer needs at the site level. An additional focus for the role will be on creating standard work and training for the purchasing organization. The position will also be responsible for establishing KPIs for the organization and driving operational excellence and discipline within the team.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies that align with the organization’s long-term goals, optimize cost-efficiency, improve supply chain performance, and ensure a competitive advantage.

    + Align supply plans with sales forecasts, proposal/capture activity and production schedules.

    + Provide sound leadership to the team and ensure excellence in performance.

    + Develop and maintain Purchasing KPIs that align to Business KPIs and measure Purchasing performance.

    + Develop and maintains excellent relationships with internal stakeholders.

    + Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the purchasing organization through use of lean tools, standard work and training.

    + Develop and enforce purchasing policies and procedures.

    + Lead regular RAIL meetings to review plans, performance, and address any issues.

    + Communicate material plans, forecasts, and strategies to senior management and key stakeholders.

    + Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to material planning.

    + Manage and mentor a team of purchasers.

    + Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

    + Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in purchasing & supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or a related field.

    + Minimum 9 years of experience in A&D SCM, with at least 5 years managing a team.

    + Strong leadership and team management abilities, with proven experience in managing a team’s day-to-day activities and ensuring high performance.

    + Proficiency in purchasing software, (e.g. Infor LN, SAP, Oracle) ERP and MRP systems, and A&D regulatory compliance (AS9100, NADCAP).

    + Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, DFAR, and FAR regulations.

    + High level of attention to detail and excellent time management skills.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + (CIP) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or the Institute for Supply Management (ISM)

    + Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power BI preferred

    + Infor/LN ERP System knowledge/experience
