Responsibilities

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. We are currently recruiting for a Technical Writer.

This position is for a Technical Writer. The main function of the candidate will be to provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), including the development, update, and validation of technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and instructional documentation for operational use by U.S. Navy personnel.

+ Life-cycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:

+ Support development updates of technical manuals, Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), and Planned Maintenance System (PMS) procedures for operational use by U.S. Navy personnel.

+ Support development and updates of Engineering Operational Sequencing Systems (EOSS) and generating the Allowed Parts List (APLs).

+ Assist in authoring and editing instructional and procedural documentation used by shipboard personnel, including Planned Maintenance System documentation and Job Sheets.

+ Contribute to written deliverables and reports such as the ship softer delivery letter by applying strong communication and technical writing skills.

+ Coordinate remotely with on-site team members, customers, and other stakeholders to support integrated logistics and system engineering deliverables.

+ Review of technical documentation related to all variants of fielded systems and future fielded systems.

+ Provide remote technical support for all variants of fielded systems at LBES and shipboard.

+ Provide remote shipboard SW & HW installation support of all variants of fielded systems at LBES.

+ Provide technical input to the design of future MCS systems.

+ Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of fielded systems and future fielded systems.

+ Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.

There is the opportunity for Hybrid Work and for very qualified candidates we will consider a remote work arrangement.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor Degree and 3 years work experience **OR** an Associates Degree 6 years of experience **OR** a High School Diploma and 9 years in lieu of degree

+ Successful applicants are US Citizens who must either have an active government security clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance.

+ If fully remote, reliable Internet access and a suitable remote work environment are required.trong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data into clearly written documentation.

+ Familiarity with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) concepts, including documentation development, configuration management, and sustainment planning.

+ Comfort working in a remote, self-directed environment with geographically distributed teams.

Desired Qualifications

+ Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or any stem degree is a BIG plus)

+ Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems

+ Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated with electrical or computer engineering in relation to control systems

+ Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams

+ Proficiency in the use of test tools associated with electrical/computer engineering

+ Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools associated with electrical/computer system troubleshooting

+ Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications

+ Proficient in basic computer/laptop use including advanced operations

+ Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools

+ Basic Technical writing ability

+ Ability to self motivate and complete tasks efficiently

+ Ability to communicate effectively within an integrated team environment

+ Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

USD $57,800.00 - USD $90,350.00 /Yr.
