General Summary
Assumes a lead role in compensation administration. Collects and analyzes occupational data, including job requirements and qualifications, for use in job analysis/evaluation and the development of job descriptions of System jobs. Participates in and conducts salary surveys. Compiles and analyzes market data using published data and economic trend information to develop competitive salary structures and maintain competitive wages and salaries to facilitate successful recruitment and retention of qualified employees. Takes the lead in annual compensation budget planning, developing cost projections and making appropriate recommendations concerning salary increase budget, salary structure adjustments, job pay range adjustments and employee pay rate adjustments. Takes a lead role in the implementation of a strategy for integration of a merger/acquisition.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
+ Conducts job audits, analyzes jobs and determines salary ranges/grades based on compensable job factors, survey data and/or formal job evaluation system.
+ Explains and negotiates salary range/grade designations with managers/supervisors. Conducts audits and analyzes positions System-wide to maintain salary range/grade equity.
+ Develops and prepares job descriptions using input from supervisors/managers, job questionnaires, observations of work and interviews with position incumbents as necessary. Maintains the job description database and job code catalogue. Updates and maintains e-forms and job descriptions on the HR website.
+ Participates in salary surveys, extracting and compiling pertinent data to complete survey questionnaires. Conducts surveys for salary planning, determination of hiring rates, job evaluation and to seek data for unusual positions.
+ Responds to requests for salary survey data. Develops and evaluates salary survey data by analysis of third-party survey results and/or through direct contact with other data sources to match jobs and obtain salary information.
+ Evaluates market and economic trends to recommend ranges, adjustments and hiring rates for salary structures and individual rates as requested.
+ Takes a lead role in the implementation of a strategy for integration of a merger/acquisition, including working with all leadership.
+ Assumes a lead role in annual compensation budget planning. Compiles and analyzes data to develop projections and to make appropriate recommendations concerning salary increase budget, salary structure adjustments, job pay range adjustments and employee pay rate adjustments. Develops cost projections and initiates pay changes for affected incumbents.
+ Assumes a lead role in executive and physician compensation budget planning.
+ Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses and statements.
+ Explains compensation policy and systems to managers/supervisors.
+ Coordinates the performance management process by maintaining performance expectations in the application and providing assistance to supervisors and employees as needed. Assists supervisors with completing and submitting merit
+ Assists in the review, selection and maintenance of on-line HR support systems related to the management of jobs, performance management and compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
+ Bachelors Degree Required
Work Experience:
+ 3 years Experience in Human Resources, business or financial analysis. Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
+ Proficient computer skills with ability to learn new computer applications.
+ Strong data and statistical analysis and information management skills.
+ Proficient in the use of Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and other data analysis and reporting tools.
+ Knowledge of human resources information systems required.
+ Knowledge of LAWSON HRIS preferred.
+ Able to work effectively with minimal supervision with all levels of staff and management to develop solutions to compensation issues.
+ Able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines.
