Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Architect to join IBM Consulting SAP team and lead the design and implementation of future-state SAP architectures for IBM clients. This strategic role will focus on aligning enterprise technology solutions with business goals, leveraging industry standards, modern cloud technologies, and human-centric design principles.
This Job can be Performed from anywhere in the US.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Architecture & Roadmap Development
Define single or multi-instance SAP implementation strategies.
Develop global process templates and global-local governance frameworks.
Create Clean Core strategies and SAP landscape blueprints.
Ensure high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity through robust, multi-tiered architectures.
Utilize tools such as SAP LeanIX, Signavio, and Celonis to create enterprise roadmaps and application rationalization strategies.
Drive modernization within the SAP ecosystem using Cloud First, API First, SAP Fiori-first, and microservices-based approaches.
2. Technology Infrastructure Optimization
Recommend cost-optimized infrastructure strategies including SAP RISE and cloud vendor alignment.
Advocate for CI/CD practices, modular architectures, and agile operations methodologies.
3. Integration & Extensibility
Design enterprise integration frameworks using SAP BTP to support extensibility, DevOps, innovation, and hybrid environments.
Reduce custom development through strategic BTP extensibility models.
4. Security & Compliance
Design and implement Zero Trust architectures with end-to-end data encryption.
Ensure compliance with enterprise IT security, regulatory standards, and service delivery requirements.
5. Implementation Strategy & Execution
Lead architecture-focused workshops with clients and internal teams.
Develop detailed implementation roadmaps, including SAP BOMs, timelines, resourcing plans, and cost estimates.
Partner with Program Management to establish governance models and initiative prioritization.
Required technical and professional expertise
* Proven experience in enterprise-scale SAP architecture, including SAP RISE and cloud transformation initiatives.
* Deep understanding of SAP platforms and tools, including SAP Fiori, SAP BTP, and integration technologies.
* Expertise in designing secure, scalable, and compliant IT architectures.
* Strong facilitation skills for workshops and cross-functional collaboration.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
