    The Director, Danaher Business System Leader (Continuous Improvement) is responsible for all DBS activities in San Jose office and primarily supporting Finance and Commercial Service executives. In this role, you will be the active driver of operational performance and deliverables, and you will be measured on these metrics. You will engage with the relevant Functional leaders to identify and continuously improve processes where performance improvements are required. Drive a DBS mindset and ensure an appropriate foundation of DBS skills not only in supporting functions but throughout the organization and provide coaching and training to people leaders and associates as they enable process improvements and sustain their results using DBS tools, analytics, and improved performance reporting. For successful leaders, this role has runway to more senior leadership opportunities.

     

    This position is onsite at our headquarters in San Jose, California and will be reporting into VP Danaher Business System.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    + Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in QDCI (Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation) that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging DBS tools as an active Leader in PD and Daily Management reviews. Be an active Leader in PD and DM reviews (as appropriate).

    + Assist site / company and functional leadership in the development of a DBS Roadmap (i.e., how to use the DBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).

    + Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Facilitate other DBS training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Danaher, Shingijutsu or other).

    + Lead, facilitate, coordinate and manage the annual Kaizen events at the plant.

    + Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate DBS tools to eliminate them.

    + Promote and facilitate associate development in various DBS tools and kaizen leadership.

    + Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other Danaher locations.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

    + Results orientation - must deliver results.

    + Independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and leading continuous improvement effort across various functions.

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with 10+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 8-10 years.

    + Excellent communication skills (writing, reading, speaking and listening)

    + Strong influential interpersonal and communications skills and focus on customers.

    + Certified in DBS tools (primarily in fundamentals) or any other continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or similar.

    + Extensive experience and knowledge of driving cross-functional improvements using DBS, or other continuous improvement tools.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

    + Deep understanding of finance and/or service aspects of the business

    + Able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.

     

    The salary range for this role is $155,000-$190,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

     

    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
