Hologic is seeking a **Lyophilization Technician Mechanic** responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our lyophilization systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role will also be supporting the Equipment Maintenance team in providing service for manufacturing automation, water systems, and lab equipment across all departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Perform routine preventative maintenance on all lyophilization equipment, including freeze dryers, vacuum pumps, refrigeration systems, and associated utilities, according to established schedules and procedures.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with lyophilization equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Execute repairs and replacements of components, including but not limited to valves, seals, motors, compressors, and instrumentation.
+ Support equipment calibrations and performance verifications to ensure accurate and reliable operation.
+ Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and equipment documentation in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Assist in the installation and commissioning of new lyophilization equipment.
+ Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to address equipment-related issues and ensure process adherence.
+ Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability and efficiency.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
+ Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
+ Train junior technicians on Lyo equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
+ Manage spare parts inventory and initiate purchase requests as needed.
+ Participate in deviation or non-conformance investigations and CAPA implementation related to equipment issues.
+ Assist in coordinating and scheduling vendor related services.
Required Education and Experience
+ Associate degree or higher in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology or similar)
+ Minimum of 6+ years related experience
+ Active EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (refrigerants)
+ HVAC certification highly preferred
+ Electrical certification OSHA/NFPA Low Voltage (600v) highly preferred
Required Skills
+ Knowledge of cGMP guidelines and familiar with 21 CFR Part 820.
+ Maintains awareness of industry regulations pertaining to calibration (e.g., ISO 17025).
+ Intermediate knowledge of calibration procedures.
+ Advanced knowledge of electrical/mechanical schematics.
+ Intermediate electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
+ Solid computer skills: Proficiency in Microsoft based Office Suites
+ Working knowledge of Agile and Oracle
+ Solid verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong customer service skills
The annualized base salary range for this hourly role is $58,100 - $87,200 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
