BayCare is currently in search of our newest **Occupational Therapist** who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. Since 1953, **South Florida Baptist Hospital** has been a trusted and loved hospital for all our community’s health and wellness needs. Our compassionate and caring team of experts, including nearly 800 team members and 250 physicians, work diligently to make sure that you receive high-quality care when you visit the hospital. Our new 204-bed replacement hospital that opened in the Spring of 2024 offers many more services than a standard community hospital, as we’re part of the BayCare family of health care facilities.

**Occupational Therapist** responsibilities:

+ Use standardized assessments, clinical observations, and patient interviews to determine the impact of the patient's condition on their ability to perform daily tasks.

+ Identify patient strengths, challenges, and potential goals for therapy.

+ Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessment results.

+ Design and implement interventions aimed at improving patients’ functional abilities and independence in daily activities.

+ Provide hands-on interventions to improve fine motor skills, gross motor skills, strength, coordination, and cognitive function.

+ Implement techniques to improve memory, attention, problem-solving, and other cognitive functions, especially for patients with neurological conditions.

+ Support family members and caregivers with understanding the patient’s needs

+ Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

+ Evaluate a patient’s readiness for discharge, ensuring they are safe and able to perform necessary ADLs independently or with the help of family and caregivers.

+ Provide recommendations for home modifications, further rehabilitation, and outpatient therapy if necessary.

+ Ensure a smooth transition from inpatient care to outpatient or home-based therapy services.

Requirements:

+ BLS (Basic Life Support)

+ OT (Occupational Therapy)

+ Or OT (Occupational Therapy) Eligible to obtain

+ Required Bachelor's Occupational Therapy

+ Preferred 1-year Occupational Therapy
