Position Summary:

With the changing landscape of Maternal and Women services attention to quality and outcomes across the continuum of care is imperative. This position will be responsible for the collection and dissemination of quality and outcome data related to the MI AIM (Alliance Innovation Maternal) and the Maternal Levels of Care. This will be accomplished by a multidisciplinary team approach across the continuum of care throughout the TH WMI Maternal service with the inclusion of THMG services

What the Women Service Information Specialist will need:

+ Bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN)

+ Master’s in nursing or health related degree preferred

+ Current Michigan license as Registered Nurse.

+ 3-5 years of OB/GYN acute care nursing experience.

What the Women Service Information Specialist will do:

+ Communicates and advances the purpose, goals and expectations of the Maternal program through planning, data collection, development and evaluation related to the metrics supported by MI AIM and coordination with OBI metrics and other identified maternal metrics for WMI Women’s Service line.

+ Works with the Medical Directors, OB Chairs, Women’s Leadership team and with the programs of other system hospitals to facilitate compliance with certification requirements for Maternal Levels of Care and MI AIM collaborative.

+ Serves as a role model for professional practice in Maternal care by assisting staff with problem-solving related to care of patients by collaborating with the Leadership teams of the facility in creating or providing education.

+ Participates in formulation of standards of care for Maternal service line patients in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
