+ Operates machine to slit continuous lengths of material, according to customer specifications: Spaces rotary blades on machine shaft, according to width specified for work order and securing blades in position.
+ Mounts printed roll stock on machine supports and threads material over tension bar, between feed rollers, and under rotary blades.
+ Starts machine and observes flow of material through machine to detect irregular cutting and winding.
+ Moves levers to stop, start, and regulate speed of machine and to align material with rotary blades.
+ Disengages winding shaft and removes narrow rolls of material.
+ Performs daily maintenance on machine.
+ Notifies supervisor when maintenance problems arise.
+ Effective with following instructions and requests from supervisor and management.
+ Seeks out information on orders and job duties when in doubt.
+ Communicates well with other operators at any time throughout their shift specifically at shift change.
+ Keeps floor free from obstructions, paper, and other materials, and keeps general work area clean.
+ Reports to work on time and is dependable.
+ Comply with departmental & job safety practices.
+ Other duties assigned by Management.

Work Environment:
Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required on the production floor at all times.
This role operates in a professional environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
