Our manufacturing client in Loveland, CO is looking for a Metal Prep worker for a temp to hire position. 1 year of prior manufacturing experience required.
Job: Metal Prep Associate
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm
Pay: $19/hour
The Metal Prep Associate is responsible for preparing metal and acrylic materials for further processing using mechanical and chemical methods. This includes finishing operations such as tumbling, anodizing, spinning, deburring, and assembly. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Prepare metal surfaces for coating or finishing using chemical and mechanical processes.
+ Perform operations including tumbling, anodizing, spinning, rule die cutting, acrylic tumbling, deburring, and assembly.
+ Handle and apply chemical treatments (e.g., acid baths, phosphating) in accordance with established procedures.
+ Inspect materials visually and dimensionally to ensure quality standards are met.
+ Record production and quality data using Cell Boards and other visual management tools.
+ Operate multiple production machines or processes simultaneously.
+ Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on equipment per preventive maintenance instructions.
+ Report complex equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
+ Safely handle and dispose of chemical and non-chemical waste, including hazardous materials, in compliance with regulations.
+ Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure proper storage of materials and tools.
+ Collaborate with Planners and Managers to prioritize workload and equipment usage to meet production demands.
+ Support continuous improvement efforts including Kaizen and VES (Visual Execution System) activities.
+ Participate in design, implementation, and troubleshooting of new equipment and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in chemical processing or metalworking is a plus.
+ Comfortable working with chemicals; knowledge of chemical safety and PPE requirements.
+ Experience in a manufacturing or metal prep environment preferred.
+ Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
+ Strong attention to detail; capable of performing repetitive tasks with precision.
+ Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
+ Good communication skills; team-oriented mindset.
+ Commitment to safety, housekeeping, and quality standards.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
+ Able to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, twisting, squatting, or climbing.
+ Manual dexterity to handle small parts and operate tools or equipment.
