Job Description
A leading company in the healthcare space is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team. This person will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, security, and availability of enterprise databases. This role involves managing the full database lifecycle, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of SQL Server environments. The DBA will support both legacy and modern application systems, working closely with internal teams and external clients to deliver high-quality database services. Key responsibilities include database backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning and testing, performance tuning, index maintenance, and data replication. The role also involves scripting, automation, and process improvement initiatives.

Skills and Requirements
- 812+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration
- Strong expertise in SQL Server configuration, upgrades, and migrations (on-prem and cloud)
- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing
- Experience with SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS
- Performance tuning and index optimization
- Experience with scripting tools (e.g., AWK, KornShell, PERL)
- Experience with Unix/Linux/AIX operating systems
- Full application development lifecycle and design patterns - MSSQL Certification
- Experience leading or mentoring DBA teams
- Familiarity with company's legacy systems
- Exposure to Oracle RDBMS architecture and maintenance
- Background in healthcare, PBM, or HIPAA-regulated environments
- Experience with change management processes
- Knowledge of hardware architecture, disk arrays, and capacity planning
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards
- High Availability (HA) technologies such as Always On null
