Position Overview:
You contribute to our success. Every role has an impact on our students’ lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Learning Lab Manager to be a part of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Galen College is looking for a Clinical Learning Lab Manager to manage learning laboratory experiences for all learners in collaboration with program faculty to ensure quality and continuity in the achievement of curriculum objectives for all programs.
What you will do in this role:
+ Facilitates lab services for all nursing programs and supports faculty instruction to include oversight and direction for all skills labs.
+ Assists program directors, faculty, and students in the lab setting with integration of simulation into the curriculum and establishes a positive learning atmosphere that assists learners in achieving curriculum objectives.
+ Prepares and assists with lab set ups based on course requirements for both the clinical learning labs and simulation.
+ Assists with the maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for effective use of all learning laboratories, to include the functioning of all simulation mannequins or other simulation equipment.
•Assists with the design, implementation, and evaluation of effective instructional tutoring strategies, methods, and technologies in conjunction with program faculty. Reviews and analyzes quarterly student lab evaluations and makes recommendations for changes and/or identified problems noted.
+ Supervises and evaluates students’ progress in meeting designated program student learning outcomes (PSLOs) and course student learning outcomes (CSLOs) and reports progress to course faculty and program directors through end of term reports.
+ Coordinates and schedules use of labs for all functions, including regular classes, special class sections, open lab, advanced clinical skills, and clinical skills evaluation.
+ Provides and develops all training for clinical learning lab faculty regarding the administration of CPEs at the beginning of each term to include lab equipment, changes to curriculum, software, and/or supplies to be used.
+ Performs quarterly evaluations on all faculty teaching in clinical learning labs for both programs and reports findings with program directors and others as deemed necessary.
+ Makes recommendations for curriculum changes for all programs to the director of simulation or program directors based on research and needs identified when performing oversight in both the clinical learning labs and CPE administration.
Position Requirements:
What qualifications you will need:
+ Unencumbered License in this state
+ Minimum of a Master of Science Degree with a major in nursing.
+ Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. Manager must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of contemporary nursing skills and related equipment/technology, an ability to work effectively with a diverse student and faculty population, and basic computer skills. Teaching in a nursing skills lab setting is required.
