Join Atlas, a national leader in civil engineering, construction management, and geotechnical services, as a **CM Project Manager 2** . Based in Portland, OR, this dynamic hybrid role offers the opportunity to lead both the strategic planning and on-site execution of major transportation and infrastructure projects across the region. You’ll be at the center of complex, high-value work that directly impacts communities — driving progress from concept through completion.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ **Lead Project Delivery:** Oversee all phases of construction and project execution, ensuring alignment with client goals, budget, timeline, and scope.
+ **Field Oversight:** Serve as the on-site lead during active construction phases, ensuring work adheres to plans, specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
+ **Team & Stakeholder Coordination:** Act as the primary liaison between contractors, consultants, agencies, and internal teams, fostering collaboration and resolving conflicts in real time.
+ **Change Management:** Analyze and recommend contract changes, manage change orders, and prepare independent cost estimates to support negotiations.
+ **Performance Tracking:** Monitor KPIs, budgets, and progress milestones; prepare detailed reports and recommendations for internal and client use.
+ **Design & Constructability Reviews:** Evaluate design documents for completeness and feasibility; provide technical feedback to improve outcomes.
+ **Compliance Oversight:** Ensure adherence to all safety, traffic, environmental, and labor compliance standards across the project lifecycle.
+ **Leadership & Problem Solving:** Anticipate and resolve project challenges, implementing timely solutions and keeping project delivery on track.
Minimum requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
+ 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation, transit, or infrastructure construction projects valued at $30M+.
+ 3+ years in a lead or supervisory capacity, with direct responsibility for team coordination and client interfacing.
+ Proven experience in both field-based construction management and strategic project planning roles.
+ Strong working knowledge of public sector standards, agency coordination, and contract administration.
+ PE license preferred; PMP certification a plus.
+ Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Technical requirements:
+ Proficient in interpreting and enforcing contract documents, specifications, and construction standards.
+ Experienced in managing project scope, change orders, claims, and risk mitigation strategies.
+ Confident in decision-making on complex issues involving multiple stakeholders and regulatory considerations.
+ Exceptional communication and reporting skills, with the ability to influence and guide diverse project teams.
