    About the role

     

    The laboratory Instrument Services Technician operates, inspects, and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facilities to achieve the most efficient results. Assures that equipment is being maintained in a safe manner. Minimizes downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance.

    What You’ll Do:

    •Maintain and repair specialized lab equipment including pressure vessels, fume hoods, vacuum and anaerobic chambers, high-purity water systems, and environmental monitoring systems.

    •Disassemble, inspect, clean, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment and controls.

    •Operate diagnostic tools such as multimeters and galvanometers.

    •Coordinate basic repairs and equipment removal during scheduled maintenance.

    •Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or deviations.

    •Source parts and provide cost estimates.

    •Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.

    •Collaborate with external contractors for repairs under service agreements.

    •Assist in developing maintenance and calibration procedures.

    •Follow established procedures to resolve routine issues under close supervision.

    •Fume Hood Expertise:

    •Minimum 5 years’ experience in airflow, electrical systems, and venting.

    •Proficient in identifying and repairing fume hood components.

    •Understands safe operation and risk assessment of chemical fume hoods.

    •Skilled in measuring and adjusting airflow, performing startup checks, and responding to emergencies.

    •Maintains proper hood usage: clear airflow paths, minimal storage, proper equipment spacing, and good housekeeping practices.

    Fume Hood Expertise:

    •Minimum 5 years’ experience in airflow, electrical systems, and venting.

    •Proficient in identifying and repairing fume hood components.

    •Understands safe operation and risk assessment of chemical fume hoods.

    •Skilled in measuring and adjusting airflow, performing startup checks, and responding to emergencies.

    What You’ll Need:

    •Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    •High school diploma or GED; ability to read technical manuals.

    •Experience with dental equipment maintenance is a plus.

    •Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.

    •Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).

    •Strong organizational and communication skills.

    •Hood repair certification preferred.

    Pay Disclaimer: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $65,000, and the maximum salary for this position is $85,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
