Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to support Canada’s Supply Chain Excellence (SCE) team. SCE plays a key role in Canada’s growth flywheel, partnering closely with Operations, FBA Inventory Management, Category Management, Worldwide Recommerce, and others to find cost-out opportunities in our network. This role will interact with senior leaders (Directors and VPs) and will act as the trusted business partner of the leader of SCE. They will work on new and inventive ways of managing and fulfilling our inventory, and influence leaders by clearly defining the tradeoffs of choosing one path over another. In addition, this role owns several cost out initiatives and partners closely with CA Finance to help the team understand supply chain performance.
The successful candidate has demonstrated the following abilities: they influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. They bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role is a key business partnering role with strong components of new products development focused on improving decision and execution to better manage inventory positions, as well as financial planning and management, and controllership mechanisms aimed at protecting long term free cash flow.
Key job responsibilities
* Builds a controllership function for the SCE team (e.g. reporting mechanisms, planning cadence, etc.).
* Drives financial modeling, trade-off analysis, and deep understanding of implications of choosing one path over another when influencing decisions.
* Looks around corners and surfaces highest-priority opportunities to leadership. Once priorities are aligned, delivers on these opportunities by building effective partnerships with the SCE team.
* Owns the storytelling for month end close reviews on key supply chain functions, including cost-out initiatives (COI).
* Builds scalable reporting and analyses that can be leveraged by CA Finance to drive Category level insights.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
