The Department of Health Services Research conducts the highest quality health services research with the ultimate aims of optimizing health care delivery and improving outcomes for the prevention and treatment of cancer.
The Research Intern will coordinate research activities in this department for a scoping review. Responsibilities include writing and maintenance of protocols, screening scientific articles, collecting data, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts for publication.
*LEARNING OBJECTIVES*
The Research Intern will learn all the steps for conducting a scoping review and become familiar with various software/tools used in a research study.
Data collection:
- Analyzes content of articles to accept for a study based on pre-specified inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Learn how to use Rayyan, Zotero, and REDCap.
Data analysis:
- Analyzes data from articles included in the study.
- Learn how to use R and Microsoft Excel.
Manuscript writing:
- Writes a scientific article based on the data.
- Learn the format of a scoping review and how to submit it for publication.
- Learn how to use Microsoft Word.
*ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS*
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's level degree preferred.
