Under the general or direct supervision of the Neurologists and the IONM supervisor performs intraoperative Neurodiagnostic testing and monitoring (EEG, EVP, TCMEP, EMG) for patients newborn to 22 years of age. Will also perform the various Neurodiagnostic tests on patients in the Neurology Lab or on the EMU unit and at the bedside as needed when not in the O.R. or training.

Job Summary:
The Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Specialist provides neurophysiologic monitoring and neurodiagnostic service during surgical procedures, performing electroencephalograph (EEG) and other neurodiagnostic examinations (NCV) according to physician’s orders under the supervision of the department manager in EEG lab and EMU lab. The role ensures real-time acquisition, interpretation and communication of neurophysiological data under supervision of a board-certified neurologist or neurophysiologist.
Under the general or direct supervision of the Neurologists and/or the IONM Manager, the IONM Tech I perform Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitor testing of BAERs, VEPs, EEG, SSEP, TCMEP, EMG, T-EMG, TOF, Cranial Nerve Monitoring, Cortical Mapping, and S-EEGs for patients (newborn to 22 years of age). In addition, the IONM Tech I will also perform the various Neurodiagnostic tests on patients in the ICU, EEG, EMU and Clinics at bedside as needed when not in the operating room or training.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associates degree, bachelor's degree in a health science preferred
Requires 2-3 years of relevant experience
Requires one (R. EEG) or more neurodiagnostic registries (R. EEG, R. EP, R. NCS)
Requires ability and tolerance to care for patients of the newborn to 22 years of age patients
Requires current BLS certification
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
+ Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.

+ Other duties as assigned.
+ Eligible for up to $3.000 sign on bonus
+ Receives and records physician’s orders, obtains patient medical history and completes appropriate documentation.
+ Prepares patients for procedures explains procedure, measures for accurate electrode sites, applies electrodes.
+ Maintains the patient's safety; maintains equipment and supplies as indicated.

GED, High School (Required)
Certification/License Requirements:
Must be Board Eligible but does not need to have: REEGT Certification Radiological Electroencephalography Technologist - ABRET or other National registry
