NOTE: This position is hybrid and requires two days a week onsite in our Walnut Creek, CA office.
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Technical Product Management is responsible for ensuring our advanced technology strategy, roadmap, and prototype development directly translate into enhanced value and experiences for our members. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and market insight to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful solutions that resonate with our Membership.
The Manager, will also partner with business line operators, Corporate Strategy, and IT, this leader will guide the organization in leveraging AI, computing, and data to achieve key enterprise objectives, improve operational efficiency, and foster innovation from a Member centric perspective. For example, this could include technological advancements that lead to faster roadside assistance, more personalized travel experiences or more intuitive access to AAA’s discounts and rewards program.
RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DUTIES
+ Advanced Technology Strategy and Roadmap:
+ Identify and evaluate emerging trends and technologies in AI, computing, and data to determine their potential impact on the business.
+ Define and prioritize strategic initiatives that align with business goals and leverage advanced technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
+ Translate the technology strategy into actionable roadmaps, outlining key milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation.
+ Communicate the technology vision, strategy, and roadmaps to stakeholders, ensuring alignment and buy-in across the organization.
+ Prototype Development and Innovation:
+ Oversee the strategic direction and development of prototypes that explore and validate the feasibility and value of new advanced technology solutions.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to define prototype requirements, design experiments, and evaluate results.
+ Drive a culture of innovation by fostering experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement in prototype development.
+ Ensure that prototypes are aligned with the overall technology strategy and have the potential to be scaled and integrated into production systems.
+ Collaboration and Guidance:
+ Partner with business line operators to understand their needs and identify opportunities to leverage AI, computing, and data to solve business challenges and create new value.
+ Work closely with Corporate Strategy to align technology initiatives with overall business strategy and ensure that technology investments support long-term objectives.
+ Collaborate with IT to ensure the efficient and effective implementation and integration of advanced technology solutions.
+ Provide guidance and thought leadership to the organization on best practices for leveraging AI, computing, and data to achieve key enterprise objectives, improve operational efficiency, and foster innovation.
+ Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
+ Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of advanced technology initiatives and prototype development efforts.
+ Monitor technology trends and competitive landscape to identify potential risks and opportunities.
+ Provide regular reports and updates to stakeholders on the progress and impact of advanced technology initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
+ Deep understanding of software development methodologies and technologies, with specific expertise in AI, computing, and data-related fields.
+ Proficiency in algorithmic design, machine learning and optimization, statistical analysis, data visualization and reporting, data mining and pattern recognition, business intelligence and data warehousing
+ Proven ability to define and execute product strategies and roadmaps that leverage advanced technologies, including AI, computing, and data solutions.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach and the ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including engineering teams specializing in AI, computing, and data science.
+ Strong customer empathy and a passion for building great products that leverage the power of AI, computing, and data to solve real-world problems.
+ Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its AI/ML, data analytics, and computing services is a strong advantage.
EDUCATION, COMPETENCIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
+ Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related area.
+ 7+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical products and a proven track record of successfully launching AI-powered, data-driven solutions.
+ 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing product management teams and providing guidance on the development of complex technical products.
+ Preferred Qualifications
+ MBA or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related area.

We target between minimum and midpoint of the range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis - Compensation Range: Min: $149,109.00 - Mid: $166,315.00- Max: $183,518.00
