Summary/Objective:
Volunteers assist in a variety of roles across our retail stores, donation centers, community events, and program support services. Volunteers play a vital role in helping Goodwill provide essential services that improve the lives of people in our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the sorting, pricing, and displaying of donated goods in retail stores.
• Support the donation intake process at donation centers.
• Assist with inventory management and store organization.
• Help with customer service and provide a positive experience for shoppers and
donors.
• Support Goodwill’s community outreach efforts by helping with events, fundraising
activities, or marketing initiatives.
• Participate in job training programs or workshops as needed to support program
participants.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and
employees.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
• Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Passion for the mission of Goodwill Industries of Kansas and a desire to make a
positive impact in the community.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, sorting, and organizing goods.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to different aspects of Goodwill’s operations.
• Reliability and commitment to the schedule agreed upon.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• No prior experience required, but volunteer experience is a plus.
