    Role Summary/Purpose:

    The AVP, Product Analytics is responsible for developing, enhancing, and implementing analytic strategies to drive the profitable growth of our Dual card, Co-brand and Buy Now Pay Later products. The full customer lifecycle is in scope including acquisition, activation, and retention strategies. This role will lead all aspects of analytics for Synchrony acquisition capabilities including Prequalification channel for revolve products, Multi Product Prequalification offering both revolve & BNPL installment products, Acquisition funnel retargeting strategies, and scaling the growth of Unifi - a consumer financing solution that brings together Synchrony's digital-first products and capabilities into a seamless, best-in class experience. This individual will also be responsible for providing investment analytics across key SYF products including Prescreens, Installment Upgrades, and Balance Transfers.

     

    The desired employee is expected to manage a queue of analytical projects from start to finish and develop actionable recommendations based on findings. This will include product development analytics, customer segmentation, proforma models, automation, improving scalability, and other activities related to improving portfolio performance. This high visibility role is part of the Growth organization with a focus on scaling our products and capabilities across all platforms and clients. This individual is expected to partner with internal product stakeholders and client teams to influence and drive strategy. This role emphasizes data-driven storytelling through financial modeling and understanding profitability dynamics

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Strong understanding of KPI's and ability to tell effective stories connecting KPI trends to business drivers. Lead the development of enterprise analytics dashboards across key SYF acquisition channels, products and capabilities.

    + Perform all aspects of analytics including opportunity sizing, segmentation, and profitability to ensure that targeting strategies meets the needs of customers and the business

    + Build financial models and forecasts, using cross-functional inputs and assumptions, to drive and sell-in strategies for Prescreen and Balance Transfer programs

    + Act as a trusted advisor to solve complex business problems and provide actionable recommendations based upon data driven insights.

    + Demonstrate and expand analytics impact with profit/LTV based product decision optimization use cases across all products

    + Co-manage team of offshore analysts to ensure high quality execution and delivery of business insights to drive profitable growth

    + Conduct ad-hoc analysis as required, bringing independent thought leadership and value-added insights and judgment

    + Experience coordinating multiple tasks with aggressive time frames

    + Ensure compliance with all applicable model regulatory and governance requirements

    + Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of Bachelor's degree, 9+ years of progressive experience working with data/analytics in the financial services, fintech, credit card and/or payments industry or consulting company.

    + A minimum of 5+ years of data analytics experience to include:

    + 4+ years of experience in using data tools like SAS, SQL or Python to perform data mining and complex statistical analyses

    + 3+ years' experience in analytics role with cross-functional stakeholders such as marketing, clients, credit risk, finance

    + 3+ years leading large-scale analytics projects

    + 2+ years of advanced financial modeling using Excel

    Desired Characteristics:

    + Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics/statistics, finance, business, engineering, or other quantitative fields from an accredited institution

    + Extensive knowledge of card and BNPL industry P&L, drivers and assumptions

    + Proven hands-on experience utilizing analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, or open-source tools such as R and Python.

    + Ability to justify assumptions/inputs and explain financial models and recommend strategies to varied stakeholder group

    + Ability to partner with managers, senior leaders, and cross functional stakeholders to establish team analytics goals and execution roadmaps.

    + Excellent presentation skills with proven experience interacting with all levels of the organization including explaining complex data clear and concisely. Experience developing, testing, documenting and maintaining standardized outcome metrics meeting diverse stakeholder needs and delivering via regular data dashboards to reflect business performance

    + Intellectually curious with the ability to innovate and identify creative solutions to meet business goals.

    + Strong understanding of targeting and segmentation, retail analytic tools and advanced spreadsheet modeling skills using Excel and PowerPoint strongly preferred

    + Experience with segmentation methods such as decision tree analysis and clustering using SAS e-Miner or other

    + Demonstrated ability to manage remotely located teams in India

     

    Grade/Level: 11

     

    The salary range for this position is **115,000.00 - 200,000.00** USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

     

    Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

     

    Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    + You must be 18 years or older

    + You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

    + You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

    + You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

    + New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
