    From your PASSION to ours

     

    Packaging team members are responsible for the efficient packing of cheese on a high-speed advanced packaging line following all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice policy. Candidates must be available to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required).

     

    From your EXPERTISE to ours

    Key responsibilities for this position include:

    • Meet production efficiency levels while maintaining a high quality product.

    • Must remove and unload packaged cheese and feed cheese onto conveyors and or place cheese into master cartons and or onto pallets.

    • Monitor quality cheese packaging and labeling and print quality and accuracy of printed coding.

    • Accurately complete associated line operation paperwork while maintaining efficiencies.

    • Accurately complete associated CCP and line operation paperwork while maintaining efficiencies

    • Maintain clean and organized work area.

    • Interact with team to maintain an open line of communication enabling efficient process flow.

    • Report problems and/or concerns to the on duty supervisor.

    • Attend departmental meetings and training as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager.

    • Follow safety rules.

    • Apply the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Standard.

     

    Candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus), able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching).

    Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

    Education:

    • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferred

    Experience:

    • Previous advanced machine operator experience preferred

    • Previous employment in a food industry setting is preferred

    • Stable and dependable work history is required

    Specialized Knowledge:

    • Basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to calculate averages)

    • Strong mechanical aptitude is required

    Skills/Abilities:

    • Ability to work in a food industry or manufacturing environment

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    • Manual dexterity

    • Vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus)

    • Push/pull/lift and carry at least 30 pounds continuously and 50 pounds occasionally,

    • Stand for entire shift

    • Perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching)

    Sign On Bonus & Pay

     

    We are offering a $2,000* Hiring Bonus to new hires for hourly positions. *Bonus amount is a gross amount. $1,000 will be paid out in the paycheck following 90 days of active employment; an additional $1,000 will be paid out in the paycheck following 180 days of active employment. Temporary, part-time and certain rehired employees are not eligible. *Attendance and performance rules apply.

     

    Pay:$22.70/hr + $2/hr shift differential (dependent upon skills and experience - can start out more per hour). Packaging Machine Operators have the potential to earn up to $28.95/hr + $2/hr shift differential after mastering multiple packaging lines. Weekend premium 20% more. Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits and paid time off.Hours:2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

    Salary Description

    $24.05 to $30.95 per hour
