Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education - Teaching and Learning is searching for an experienced Education Program Specialist for Teacher and Recruitment. the successful candidate will be Educator Systems Specialist and will be responsible for coordinating practices at the state, district, and post-secondary levels, that promote the recruitment and retention of effective teachers through GaDOE’s Teach in the Peach initiative.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
+ Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning that elevates effective teaching practices.
+ Provide individual and team consultation to adapt professional development so it meaningfully addresses educator learning needs.
+ Evaluate program efficacy and utilize pertinent data to propose local changes in methods and objectives
+ Promote collegial culture by fostering an environment of service, trust, and respect
+ Develop and implement marketing strategies for educator recruitment initiatives, including digital marketing campaigns, social media engagement, content creation, and community outreach programs
+ Engage in public relations activities, including press releases, media relations, event planning, and stakeholder engagement, to promote recruitment and retention initiatives.
+ Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats to various stakeholders, including educators, administrators, sponsors, and donors.
+ Seek and maintain communication with sponsors and donors to support recruitment initiatives, including developing sponsorship proposals, managing donor relationships, and coordinating fundraising events.
+ Plan, organize, and facilitate statewide events associated with educator recruitment and retention, including advisory panels and workshops.
+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications :
+ Bachelor’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university.
+ Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved certificate at level T-4
+ Minimum of five (5) years of classroom teaching.
+ Served as a teacher leader or mentor teacher in implementing innovative teaching practices and professional development programs at the school or district level
+ Strong adaptability, organization, and time management skills
+ Adept in synthesizing ideas and complex information to make logical program recommendations
+ Effectively manage and complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines and priorities.
+ Ability to establish and sustain collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, including creating compelling content for various audiences.
Preferred Qualifications :
Preference will be considered with candidates possessing one or more of the below preferred qualifications:
+ Master’s degree from a Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university
+ Prior involvement in digital marketing, including social media management, content creation, and analytics
+ Experience as a school, district, or State Teacher of the Year candidate
+ Experience in developing and managing sponsorship proposals and donor relationships.
+ Familiarity with public relations, including media relations, event planning, and stakeholder engagement.
+ Knowledge of recruitment and retention initiatives, including strategies for attracting and retaining educators.
+ Experience speaking and leading presentations to large groups

High school diploma/GED and seven (7) years of program management experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Education Prgm Spec 3 (EDP032) or position equivalent.
