POSITION SUMMARY:This position serves as an internal business partner and coach for talent development, employee training, and organizational learning within the Human Resources Department at Kennebec Savings Bank. The incumbent will manage the advancement of a best practice learning culture at the Bank for enhanced employee performance while providing learning and development programs to support career progression and growth, and to positively impact the employee experience.
Responsible for: aligning learning and employee development activities; facilitating programs and educational instruction; providing coaching and career support; managing the KSB University program; coordinating the annual compliance training assignments and reporting; administering the Learning Management System; managing components of the new hire orientation, onboarding program, and intern program in collaboration with other HR staff; and, involving external resources, processing invoices and providing congratulatory communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Alignment of Learning & Employee Development Activities:Integrate the strategic initiatives and specific tactics adopted in the Bank’s strategic business plan into the ongoing learning & employee development activities. Effectively plan, design, develop, and deliver educational programs in support of the business strategy and operational initiatives. Confer with Bank leadership, department managers, and other subject matter experts to determine priorities and coordination of employee training and professional development efforts. Identify learning opportunities and evaluate effectiveness of trainings to ensure a return on investment of educational resources through increased performance, productivity, efficiency, and customer service.
+ Program Facilitation and Instruction: Effectively facilitate group trainings, instruct courses, and lead meetings relevant to organizational learning. Conduct in person and online trainings for KSB staff at all levels by utilizing various training tools to effectively translate program content that provides for employee learning, development of skills, and career growth. Deliver engaging educational programs by transferring knowledge and ensuring content meets the needs of varied learning styles. Ensure participation in group and individual sessions, and confirm participants’ understanding of course materials, to maximize learning opportunities for KSB staff.
+ Learning Coach and Career Support:Responsible for a career planning program to include the utilization of mentoring, leadership development, and talent assessment programs to support the development of emerging leaders within KSB, as well as Bank’s succession planning efforts. Manage the employee and leadership development activities by serving as a resource and a learning coach to KSB staff regarding training, education, and professional development. Provide career support to managers and staff on career pathing, research and recommend educational programs and developmental opportunities to aid in professional growth. Champion the Predictive Index behavioral assessment tool for developing individual employees and maximizing team performance. Manage the Bank’s mentor program, the KSB Leadership Academy, and educational programs for KSB’s Emerging Leaders.
+ KSB University Program: Provide and promote accessibility to internal and external educational opportunities for employees. Research and recommends new curriculum and learning methods to expand employee knowledge and effectiveness. Further develop and manage the stackable certificate program, as well as the Bank’s internal library of educational resources. Support the employees’ self-initiated development through consultation and the management of learning requests for computer-based training, webinars, conferences, certifications, and programs relative to the banking industry and positions at KSB. Work with local colleges and universities, as appropriate, to coordinate opportunities for current employees. Provide support to KSB management for operational trainings as new systems, products, programs, work tools, policies, procedures, and processes are implemented such as, M365, behavioral assessments, etc. Maintain KSB educational calendar within HR to ensure timely communication of training programs offered within and outside the Bank through the Intranet.
+ Compliance Trainings:In partnership with Compliance and Risk Management, and for the purpose of ongoing employee education and compliance readiness for audits and exams, ensure that the Bank’s employees are provided with KSB’s current annual compliance trainings required per banking regulations, labor laws (such as Video Display Terminal (VDT) and Sexual Harassment) and bank policies. Also, determine available options for new and enhanced compliance trainings through external resources. Manage the Bank’s online training and course development portals for the creation of learning materials, course assignments, ongoing maintenance and tracking, and the timely reporting of the completed trainings.
+ LMS Administration:Oversee the ongoing documentation in the Learning Management System for all training assigned and completed by KSB personnel. Ensure the effective utilization of the Paylocity Learning module are maintained and that all appropriate training data is recorded in the system and that regular analysis of that data occurs. Provide reports generated by the LMS for purposes of audit requests and keeping the Bank’s management aware of progress being made in all areas of training and professional development.
+ Employee Orientation and Onboarding Support:In collaboration with HR staff, manage components of the new employee orientation and onboarding process. Coordinate education to new hires focused on mandatory trainings and introduction to the KSB culture and expectations, while promoting educational programs and career opportunities within KSB’s learning and development environment.
+ Internship Support: Provide training and support to the student intern program by working in partnership with other staff, the student interns and partners from the educational institutions, on jointly rewarding learning and development activities.
+ External resources, invoices, and congratulatory communications:Identify the most appropriate and cost-effective best practices in the external training resources area. Coordinate the RFP process, assist with the negotiation of prices and formalization of training plans with external vendors, as necessary. Manage enrollment in banking schools, invoice payments, compensation stipends, and congratulatory communications for educational achievements in approved programs.
+ Community/public relations:Actively participate in community organizations and events. Represent the Bank in the community.
+ Other duties:Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality. Attend and participate in Bank meetings. Participates in lifelong learning activities by attending internal and external training to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role of the Talent Development Specialist at KSB.

Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred or combination of education and experience.
+ 5 to 8 years’ direct experience as a talent development professional in managing employee training, educational programs and organizational development.
+ Several years of banking industry experience preferred.
+ Successful track record of fostering an impactful learning culture.
+ Design and facilitation experience in creating and instructing impactful, and engaging, educational programs.
+ Administration of learning management systems and online learning programs, and proficient with course development software.
+ Certification by ATD, Predictive Index, and/or by SHRM / HRCI is a plus.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and must be Computer literate, with specific experience in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
+ Experience with Paylocity, LMS Software, Articulate, and LogicManager a plus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license, the use of a serviceable automobile that is properly registered and proper liability automobile insurance as required by state law.
+ Must be able to work collaboratively and work with all levels of employees to ensure excellent learning outcomes.
+ Must be able to communicate effectively in person, in writing and via electronic channels
+ Must be comfortable making group presentations.
+ Must be able to manage all logistics necessary to ensure training sessions are supported.
+ Must be extremely organized and detail oriented.
+ Must be able to prioritize, manage workflow and handle multiple jobs.
+ Must have the ability analyze a problem, and identify and implement a resolution.
+ Must have a high degree of ethics and maintain confidentiality.
+ Must be able to spend extended periods of time operating a computer keyboard and working at a computer monitor.
+ Must be able to communicate clearly by telephone and virtual channels; must have good listening ability and skills.
+ Must be friendly, courteous and sensitive to the needs of customers and coworkers.
