Description
We are looking for someone to come and create a sustainability program. The candidate must be able to work closely with farmers, suppliers, and program implementers and ensure stakeholder engagement for their project.
• Flexibility and Adaptation – Coffee farming is a dynamic space with multiple challenges facing farmers including changes in climate, coffee tree pests and disease, aging farmer populations, migration to urban areas and economic challenges. To make progress on our coffee sustainability strategy we will need to learn and adapt in real time as we gain insight into new and ever-changing contexts.
• Collect the right information to accurately track progress against our coffee sustainability goals
• Evaluate and analyze data collected to understand the outcomes, effectiveness and value of our efforts
• Synthesize learnings to extract insights for continuous improvement, refinement of strategy and accurate story telling
We are looking for candidates with MEL experience rooted in the following principles:
• Partnership – Our many stakeholders including farmers, suppliers, program implementors, and Farmer Support Centers are all key players in providing, collecting, tracking and sharing data. Their input in the design of the MEL Framework is fundamental and we respect the various sources of information they bring forward.
• Curiosity – Through the development of this MEL Framework we wish to deepen our understanding, challenge perspectives, and question assumptions all with the aim of strengthening the tools we are using to make progress against our sustainability goals.
Required skills?
• 10 years’ experience designing and building MEL frameworks, strategies and systems, ideally in the agriculture space and across varying geographies.
• Proven track record and high proficiency in project and consultant management across various stages of project development and implementation (initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and completion).
• Proven ability to influence and guide diverse internal and external teams toward achieving common objectives without direct authority, showcasing exceptional collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a central coordinator, quickly identifying connections, efficiencies, and necessary action plans.
• Excellent relationship building and cross functional working skill set.
