    About the Job

     

    The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a **Software Quality Engineer** to join our Red Hat Certificate System QE team. In this role, you'll help shape the future of identity management by ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of enterprise quality, performance, and supportability. You’ll work with technologies like public key infrastructure (PKI) and LDAP, gaining deep technical expertise while contributing to a critical part of Red Hat’s security offerings.

     

    As a Software Quality Engineer, you’ll create and execute test plans, develop automated test suites, and collaborate closely with development teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring product reliability before release, and bring a passion for problem-solving, continuous learning, and working in a fast-paced, open-source environment.

    What You Will Do

    + Work daily with technologies including:

    + Python automation

    + Jenkins (CI/CD)

    + Containers

    + Linux

    + Ansible

    + Test and help deliver Red Hat Certificate System as part of our complete identity management portfolio

    + Create, maintain, and enhance both automated and manual test suites

    + Participate in test and sprint planning; suggest improvements for processes and product quality

    + Perform root cause analysis of complex issues spanning multiple components

    + Analyze and prioritize quality risks; identify necessary test coverage to mitigate them

    + Contribute to upstream automation efforts and provide demos of tools and technologies

    + Support the team’s success by delegating tasks and mentoring peers

    What You Will Bring

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

    + Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

    + Proficiency in Python and shell scripting

    + Solid understanding of Linux systems and command-line tools

    + Experience designing complex test cases and contributing to test automation frameworks

    + Ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis across systems

    + Familiarity with Ansible and infrastructure automation

    + Strong team player with a collaborative mindset; ability to lead by example

    + Ability to foster alignment across teams and drive consensus toward common goals

    The Following Are Considered a Plus

    + Contributions to open source projects (e.g., GitHub)

    + Experience with automated testing frameworks

    The salary range for this position is $84,400.00 - $134,970.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

     

    Pay Transparency

     

    Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
