SUMMARY:As a Unit Secretary, you are an integral part of the nursing unit, which relies on your help with communications, process management and supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Assists the teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate program for all of the children.

+ Assists in creating an environment that supports children's growth and development.

+ Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all of the children and their families.

+ Effectively guides children's behavior in an age appropriate and positive manner.

+ Constructively participates in staff meetings and attends meetings with supervisor.

+ Meets the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and cultural needs of individual children.

+ Attends a minimum of 15 hours of training every year.

+ Communicates appropriately with families regarding children's daily activities both verbally and written as needed.

+ Ensures the safety of the children and promotes good health habits.

+ Works toward achievement of classroom’s annual goals.

+ Works with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ High school diploma or equivalent OR

+ One (1) year of experience working with children less than 13 years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Excellent leadership and communication skills

+ Demonstrated patience and compassion

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
