    Job Title: Protection and Control Engineer

    Job Description

    Perform substation protection and controls design and design reviews. Ensure a high level of QA/QC review for related projects. Design interfacing with SCADA systems and communications, including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs. Develop and revise existing drawings for one-lines, physical arrangement, grounding, schematics, and wiring, control and relaying panels, and equipment wiring, while coordinating with CAD operators to develop organized quality CAD drawings. Integrate protection and control drawings to interface with the physical layout and design of substations. Manage and assist with the development of the scope of services and cost estimates for Substation and P&C projects. Depending on credentials, manage or mentor junior staff.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform substation protection and controls design and design reviews.

    + Ensure a high level of QA/QC review for related projects.

    + Design interfacing with SCADA systems and communications, including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.

    + Develop and revise existing drawings for one-lines, physical arrangement, grounding, schematics and wiring, control and relaying panels, and equipment wiring.

    + Coordinate with CAD operators to develop organized, quality CAD drawings.

    + Integrate protection and control drawings with the physical layout and design of substations.

    + Manage or mentor junior staff, depending on credentials.

    Essential Skills

    + 4-15 years of experience supporting substation protection & controls projects.

    + Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Field.

    + EIT or PE certification required.

    + Experience managing or mentoring junior staff.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in substation design and engineering.

    + Familiarity with electrical utility and protection controls.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $69.71/hr.
