    Job Title: Clerk of the Works / Construction Manager

    Job Description

    We are seeking a facilities construction inspector and project controls manager, also known as a 'Clerk of the Works', for a capital improvements project located in Charlottesville, VA. As a Project Inspector, you will serve as a representative of the Owner and take responsibility for performing duties, observations, and services as required. Administrative duties may also be assigned to support the Project Inspector.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct thorough construction inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.

    + Manage project controls and oversee project progress.

    + Perform administrative tasks in support of project inspection.

    + Represent the Owner in all matters related to construction and project management.

    + Ensure adherence to building codes and safety regulations.

    + Facilitate continuous improvement in construction processes.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in construction and construction inspection.

    + Experience in concrete and commercial construction.

    + Project management skills.

    + OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

    + Understanding of the VA CPSM.

    + Experience as a state project manager or Clerk of the Works.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong clerical and communication skills.

    + Understanding of construction and submittal processes.

    + Knowledge of building codes.

    + Ability to read building plans and drawings.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role is onsite in Charlottesville daily, offering a fantastic opportunity to join a two-year project with potential for vertical growth alongside a long-term repeat client.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $44.37 - $52.28/hr.
