Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician will perform a variety of duties within the facility, following cGMP and BRC standards. The role involves conducting QC checks on the floor and performing lab testing of raw materials and in-process products. The technician will advise on updating SOPs, conduct internal audits, perform investigations and root-cause analysis, and manage data entry/reporting via Excel. Cross-functional communication between all manufacturing departments and leadership is essential, and the technician must be able to work well both on a team and independently.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct QC checks and lab testing of raw materials and in-process products.

+ Advise on updating SOPs and conduct internal audits.

+ Perform investigations and root-cause analysis.

+ Complete data entry and reporting using Excel.

+ Ensure cross-functional communication with manufacturing departments and leadership.

Essential Skills

+ Quality assurance and quality control expertise.

+ Knowledge of GMP, food safety, and BRC standards.

+ Proficiency in Excel and documentation control.

+ Experience in biology, chemistry, and microbiology testing.

+ Strong understanding of lab equipment and lab documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology or any scientific discipline.

+ 1-2 years of experience in food quality.

+ Mathematics and computer usage skills.

+ Bilingual skills preferred.

Work Environment

The plant operates 24/7 with this position being a second shift opportunity from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The work environment includes a $0.75 shift differential with a pay rate increase after a 15-week training period. Employees receive bonuses for perfect attendance every two weeks. The team is composed of an Assistant Quality Manager and three technicians per shift. Adhering to GMP guidelines, employees cannot wear artificial nails, eyelashes, or visible jewelry and must wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeve shirts. Uniforms and freezer jackets are provided as work includes entering and exiting the freezer throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.95 - $19.95/hr.
