    Job Title: Survey Technician

    Job Description

    As a Survey Technician, you will maintain accountability for the actions and productivity of the field crew, manage the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, and work directly with the Survey Manager to develop proposals and coordinate with clients on existing projects. You will assist the Survey Manager in managing field crew members ranging from 3 to 8 people, calculate and upload/download data points in GPS monitors and mapping equipment, read and comprehend construction drawings, and calculate construction layouts. You will work directly with design engineers, clients, safety officers, and the public to plan and execute efficient scanning and survey workflows while complying with all Construction Site OSHA rules.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain accountability for field crew actions and productivity.

    + Operate and maintain survey equipment.

    + Coordinate with the Survey Manager to develop proposals and manage existing projects.

    + Assist in managing field crews of 3-8 technicians.

    + Calculate and upload/download data points in GPS and mapping equipment.

    + Read and comprehend construction drawings.

    + Calculate construction layouts.

    + Work directly with design engineers, clients, safety officers, and the public.

    + Plan and execute efficient scanning/survey workflows.

    + Comply with all OSHA rules on construction sites.

    + Participate in required company training programs.

    Essential Skills

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    + 3-5 years of experience in a civil engineering/surveying office REQUIRED.

    + 3-5+ years of experience in boundary research and field staking.

    + Expert knowledge of GPS and robotic survey equipment.

    + Proficiency in survey programs and software or comparable 3D scanning software.

    + Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

    + Field leadership qualities to manage crews and represent the company on job sites.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in land surveying and crew scheduling.

    + Skill in using GPS.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Work Environment

    This position is with a small, family-owned business that values personality, teamwork, and a kind-hearted approach. You will report directly to the Survey Manager and have autonomy in your role. The position requires travel to and from job sites daily and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $50.00/hr.
