This role involves 2D drafting and configuring of electrical cabinets using AutoCAD Electrical for an industrial manufacturing facility. The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating detailed 2D drawings that define various hardware and layouts of equipment, structures, systems, and components to support assigned projects. Collaborating closely with responsible engineers, the designer develops mechanical and physical concepts, designs, and processes related to the project.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate design efforts under the direction of responsible engineers.
+ Prepare and update installation drawings, assembly/manufacturing drawings, and establish guidelines for CAD data management.
+ Construct the final version of construction projects specifying dimensions, codes, production methods, and materials.
+ Develop detailed 2D drawings of equipment, structures, systems, and components, including mechanical components and assemblies.
+ Assist in defining and developing system/component geometric interfaces.
+ Assess models for manufacturability and assembly/integration considerations.
+ Create and check manufacturing technical data packs and 2D detail component drawings.
+ Ensure components are properly designed and integrated into the overall system.
+ Serve as an information source on planning and design of equipment installations.
+ Maintain notes, design calculations, and other documentation for future reference.
+ Identify and communicate best CAD modeling and drafting practices to team members.
+ Engage vendors in the design and manufacturing of systems and components.
+ Suggest design changes and improvements, factoring in DFM and DFA principles.
+ Collaborate in planning, scheduling, and organizing detailed phases of engineering work.
+ Establish filing guidelines for maintaining up-to-date drawings.
+ Maintain system and model compatibility in the Product Lifecycle Management system.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting/design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Vault.
+ Experience in drafting electrical cabinets, panels, boxes, and wire routing.
+ Familiarity with P&ID drafting and dimensioning/tolerancing standards.
+ Associate's degree in drafting, CAD, engineering, or related field, or a high school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience.
+ Plant design experience.
Work Environment
This is an on-site office environment with a Monday to Friday schedule. The role involves direct interaction with responsible engineers and vendors, requiring a collaborative approach.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.72 - $45.67/hr.
