Job Description

The Materials Specialist is responsible for receiving, binning, shipping, and issuing materials and aircraft parts. This role involves creating repair orders for unserviceable parts, ensuring availability of parts and materials for daily maintenance, processing part returns, and performing receiving inspection functions.

Responsibilities

+ Create repair orders for unserviceable parts as directed by the Repairs Department and current contracts.

+ Ensure parts and materials are available for daily maintenance workload.

+ Process serviceable and unserviceable aircraft part returns as required.

+ Perform receiving inspection functions under the oversight of the Material Manager.

+ Execute monthly and weekly tasks such as calibration and shelf-life review, cycle/inventory counts.

+ Utilize the computer system to maintain and update inventory promptly.

+ Monitor shipping and station supplies; advise on shortages and requirements.

+ Coordinate with the Materials department on parts required for assigned maintenance tasks.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in shipping and receiving, inventory control, and material handling.

+ Proficiency with computer systems and attention to detail.

+ Previous experience in inventory, shipping, receiving, and forklift operation is preferred.

+ Aviation background or knowledge of aircraft parts is a bonus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of FedEx shipping procedures.

+ Experience in packing and material handling.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
