Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an Assembly Technician to join our team, specializing in the assembly of new and returned submersible electric motor-driven pumps and pump products. This role involves quality parts inspection, mechanical and electrical testing, and meticulous documentation.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble mechanical and electrical components of submersible pumps, including bearings, mechanical seals, lip seals, O-rings, power cable assemblies, impellers, stators, and similar parts.
+ Conduct mechanical inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, depth gauges, bore gauges, and balancers.
+ Utilize assembly tools including torque wrenches, air tools, electric drills, wrenches, screwdrivers, and other similar equipment.
+ Inspect electrical motors and pump wiring using precision electrical instruments like volt-ohm meters, meger tester, and high pot tester.
+ Interpret manuals, mechanical blueprints, and similar documents to implement accurate assembly procedures.
+ Assist with testing the performance of completed pumps and products to ensure quality standards are met using fluid testing and electrical testing equipment.
+ Provide feedback to the production manager for planning production schedules.
+ Supply technical information to Sales, Engineering, and Quality departments regarding product performance and potential improvements.
+ Collaborate with various functional disciplines within the organization to meet production requirements.
+ Engage in companywide continuous improvement and quality initiatives to support operational growth.
+ Perform daily work safely, considering the well-being of fellow employees and complying with OSHA safety standards.
+ Adapt to changes in duties, responsibilities, and activities, which may be assigned at any time without notice.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of experience in a technical manufacturing or similar environment.
+ Proficiency in mechanical and electrical equipment and manufacturing assembly.
+ Ability to use computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Capability to lift 50 pounds.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
+ Experience and comfort with mechanical and electrical elements of submersible pumps, including bearings, mechanical seals, lip seals, O-rings, and power cable assemblies.

Work Environment
The work environment involves handling pumps of various sizes, some requiring hand trucks and others assisted by overhead cranes. The role operates from Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 5:00 pm, in a supportive and cooperative setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Haven, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
