Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with diagnostic tools, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
+ Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software and tools.
+ Inspect and maintain fuel systems, emissions systems (DPF, EGR, SCR), and cooling systems.
+ Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
+ Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders.
+ Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and shop facilities.
+ Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status and recommendations.
+ Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology preferred.
+ 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a related field.
+ Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair software (e.g., Cummins INSITE, CAT ET).
+ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and emissions controls.
+ Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
+ ASE Diesel Certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
+ Work in various positions including standing, kneeling, and lying down.
+ Tolerance for working in noisy, dirty, or outdoor environments.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
