    SUMMARY

    The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety.

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful.

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)

     

    + Produce high quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.

    + Provide proper radiation protection measures.

    + Working with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders.

    + Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.

    + Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    + Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required

    + Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required

    + R.T.

    + C.T., or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation

    + Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required

    + BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire
