General Function
The Associate Head Athletics Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Athletics Coach with the management and administration of all activities related to his/her sport and exercises direct supervision of recruiting, training, and coaching student-athletes participating in the sport. The Associate Head Athletics Coach is fully responsible for compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA ) rules and regulations as well as Conference rules and University policies governing intercollegiate athletics.
Description of Primary Duties
Assist with the overall day to day objectives of the program, teaching player development, assisting with practices, assist with recruiting for men’s soccer, understands and abides by NCAA , conference and university rules and regulations.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: At least three years of experience in coaching at the intercollegiate level or three years of professional experience teaching his/her sport is required. Coaching experience in a NCAA Division I level program is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing recruitment, eligibility and related functions is required. Public speaking experience is required. Experience in administrative functions, budgeting, fund-raising, promotional activities and public relations is required.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Management and organizational skills are required.
