Job Summary

Under direct supervision, operate the Global Security Operations Center. Serve as 24/7 single point of contact across all Battelle operations. Responsible for assisting company personnel in all concerns pertaining to personal safety and security around the globe. Monitor, analyze, and take action to mitigate safety and security related risks affecting global operations. Follow procedures to coordinate and dispatch internal and external resources in response to a variety of incidents from minor localized situations to complex critical events.

Responsibilities

+ Utilize multiple technology platforms to support the protection of individuals and corporate infrastructure and to manage incidents/events as appropriate. GSOC software and systems include access control, intrusion alarms, life safety, video, radio dispatch, global risk management, travel tracking, mass communications, incident reporting, and Microsoft office suite.

+ Monitor and investigate life safety and security alarms activity across Battelle locations. Dispatch appropriate internal resources and public sector agencies to support the response. Communicate protective actions to evacuate or shelter as appropriate. Establish call bridges for risk event teams. Write and distribute incident reports.

+ Analyze and act appropriately to worldwide risk events affecting assets and operations. Utilize risk event tools to accurately assesses emerging and developing information. Convey relevant and vital information in a concise and accurate manner to inform key leaders and stakeholders of potential business disruption and employees of life safety concerns and protective actions.

+ Proactively utilize security systems to identify suspicious activity. Dispatch appropriate internal resources and public sector agencies to support the response. Write and distribute incident reports.

+ Control access to restricted and high security areas through door and gate controls.

+ Report security system issues and malfunctions to ensure timely response and corrective action.

+ Solves routine problems.

+ Follows standard operating procedures.

+ Utilizes guidance and coaching from peers and supervisors to refine skills.

Key Qualifications

+ Associate degree or 2+ years of equivalent work experience in Military, Law Enforcement, Government, Corporate Security.

+ Prior experience in a security operations center or similar environment highly preferred. This can include a commercial alarm-monitoring center, law enforcement operations center, security command center, engineering systems control or similar monitoring and customer service.

+ Ability to use logic and reasoning to reach quick conclusions and approaches to problems.

+ Ability to multitask and maintain composure, courtesy, tact, and effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment.

+ Comfortable with the latest technology, and eager to learn new tools and new innovations.

+ Must be willing to work in support of a 24/7/365 operation that includes the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

+ Eligibility to obtain and keep a Secret level security clearance.

+ Must have successfully completed new hire security training.
