About the Position
As the first line of defense in protecting our environment, you will see the real-world impacts of your work in Environmental Sciences every day.
If selected, you will...
+ Coordinate and conduct installation, routine, and closure inspections of petroleum and mineral acid storage tanks per Florida regulations (Chapters 62-761 and 62-762, F.A.C.).
+ Visually inspect tank systems and analyze inspection data, operability testing reports, and financial responsibility documents to determine compliance and prepare regulatory documentation.
+ Maintain and update FDEP and county databases; Document violations and perform Compliance Assistance and Referral activities as required.
+ Advise Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) on compliance issues and participate in regulatory meetings and conferences.
+ Provide regulatory guidance to property & tank owners & operators; investigate tank-related complaints.
+ Review Storage Tank Permits for compliance with FDEP and County regulations.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
+ Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
+ Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (No weekends!)
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the biological or physical sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field -WITH- three (3) years of related professional experience.
+ OR - Master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of professional experience.
+ OR- Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree.
+ Valid Florida driver’s license
Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $56,139.20 and can rise to $75,774.40, depending on experience.
