Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Director I who will directly support the Vice President of Amphibious Vehicles (AV) within Combat Mission Systems. The candidate will be responsible for Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) enterprise readiness, common operating picture and capability upgrade plan. The candidate also will work with the ACV Program Directors to eliminate barriers to ensure they have support in meeting customer delivery schedules within budget and in accordance with contract terms and conditions. The candidate will also provide organizational team alignment and leadership in the attainment of identified AV team performance goals. Serves as the appointed Program Management point of contact to allow the Vice President to lead and direct the AV team at the appropriate Sr. leadership level.
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely (averaging 3 days onsite weekly). For this position, we will consider someone working out of any one of the Combat Mission Systems locations: Stafford VA, York PA, Sterling Heights MI, Louisville KY, or Minneapolis MN.
Responsibilities
+ Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of all ACV readiness and capability upgrade efforts. Impacts AV Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP). Heavy coordination with Program Directors, Finance and Business Development is required.
+ Maintain and improve the AV common operating picture.
+ Coordination with Functional Leadership to manage strategic initiatives across the AV Senior Leadership Team.
+ Drives internal process and team preparation for monthly reviews such as Program Performance Reviews (PPRs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs) MR, Red &Yellow reviews, etc
+ Reviews organizational alignment to ensure we have streamlined, efficient and balanced teams across assigned portfolio.
+ Drives consistency for performance of Program Management and Controls (PM&C) across the assigned portfolio.
+ Reviews all internal BAE Systems process and schedules to allow the AV Vice President to be more customer focused and influential at the Sr. U.S. and International Government / Military levels.
+ Serves as a point of contact with targeted AV customers on schedule, status and other programmatic issues.
+ Ensures targeted Operational Excellence objectives are met.
+ Makes presentations and interfaces with senior management, corporate-level managers and high-ranking customers on all matters affecting the status of portfolio.
+ Provides leadership and anticipates/resolves issues and inter-group conflict.
+ Plans and leads various strategic improvement initiatives across the AV business.
+ Utilizes experience in partnering with Government Relations to affect or influence a potential outcome that benefits the AV business portfolio.
+ Keeps Site Managers, Program Directors and functional managers apprised of the critical business issues and status for all portfolio areas.
+ Lead development of business cases for strategic investments e.g., identifying need and specificity of strategic funding.
+ Advise VP on forecasting future business needs (e.g., people, process, tools) or market trends.
+ Manage mutually beneficial partnering relationships across the portfolio.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Technical discipline, and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
+ Proven project/program management skills and practical knowledge and experience in project management
+ Functions well in a team environment
+ Able to influence and work with large cross-functional and cross-program teams; communicate issues, risks, and mitigations to senior management
+ Adept in problem analysis, course of action development, and decision recommendations
+ In-depth knowledge of working within a dynamic and expansive portfolio with a broad and diverse customer base
+ Ability to manage issues, briefings, and strategic recommendations up through Sector senior leadership
+ Demonstrated ability to make decisions in an environment with some ambiguity and uncertainty
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience presenting to senior leaders and customers in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Customer focus and relationship building skills
+ Highly adaptable with a high degree of initiative
+ Ability to operate independently and proactively
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Master s Degree in a Business or Technical discipline
+ A certification in Project Management from an industry-recognized organization such as the Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Program Management Professional (PgMP)
+ Experience in large Defense Contracting programs
+ Knowledge and prior experience in planning, scheduling, and management of programs
+ Experience in business case development, analysis, and presentation
+ Experience establishing and leading Integrated Product Teams (IPT)
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
