    Job Description

    BAE Systems is hiring a Procurement Manager to support our Ship Repair business in San Diego, CA. This role will handle the team in support of all Direct and Indirect Procurement for San Diego Ship Repair Business as well as assist in negotiations, contract award, supplier management, and execution to meet or exceed business requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    + Coordinate activities among BAE Systems Supply Chain Managers, Program Leads, and Engineering to develop supply chain and material / commodity strategies across a broad spectrum of materials, equipment, and supplies to support business operational excellence.

    + Expedite material and maintain Purchase orders to ensure that material is ordered and delivered on time.

    + Create and report metrics to Ship Repair Senior Leadership for material orders and delivery.

    + Responsible for procurement compliance, Cost/Price Analysis, and continuous improvement (Root Cause & Corrective action) to optimize supplier performance.

    + Develop and maintain professional and dependable relationships with both internal and external customers.

    + Assist Compliance Managers to develop, implement, and direct policies, practices, and procedures that are in accordance with federal, commercial, state/local, and/or international Procurement regulations.

    + Ensure quick resolution of technical and programmatic issues by leveraging and integrating the capabilities of the entire organization.

    + Participate in and contribute to Management Reviews, technical meetings, partner assessments, and audits.

    + Generate and author Supply Chain / Management Plans and identify measures for managing suppliers.

    + Prepare and present briefings to Programs and Management as required.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

    + Experience leading major procurement efforts in a Department of Defense (DOD) contracting environments

    + Experience developing and implementing category / commodity strategies across a broad range of commodities

    + Experience managing Subcontracts or Procurement teams

    + Knowledge of Ship Repair and associated Defense Procurement regulations including FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR, and CPSR

    + Knowledge of subcontractor solicitations and bid analysis/process

    + Ability to think strategically and use financial acumen to effectively manage projects and suppliers

    + Ability to resolve contractual and performance issues with cross-functional teams and suppliers

    + Ability to find win-win solutions with a make it happen attitude

    + Ability to lead, mentor, motivate, and develop diverse teams

    + Ability to support organizational change and improvements

    + Excellent time management and organizational skills

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook)

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Graduate Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related

    + Professional Supply Chain Certification: CPM, CPSM, PMP

    + Experience in CostPoint purchasing system

    + Technical background with the ability to read drawings

    + Generosity of thought and knowledge

    + Desire for continuous improvement

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $116419 - $197912

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
